AudacityTeam.org is hosted by DreamHost, an excellent web hosting provider. We're very happy with them, and while their rates are very reasonable, they're not free. We're paying a few dollars every month to keep this site up, as a resource for Audacity developers and users. Not a lot of money, but it adds up, considering we're not making any profit.

Note that the majority of the web hosting for Audacity is provided by SourceForge, free of charge. SourceForge is a for-profit company that makes its money by selling the software behind SourceForge for companies to use for internal software development. They also provide a wonderful free service by hosting any open-source project free of charge. If you want to donate to SourceForge, they have their own donation page.
