Effects in this group change the character of a sound rather than its level or its frequency balance — by varying it cyclically over time, or by using one signal to shape another.

The Distortion and modulation submenu of the Effect menu, between Delay and reverb and Special.
What is in it
- Tremolo — vary the volume cyclically at a chosen rate and waveform.
- Vocoder — impose the changing spectrum of one signal onto a carrier.
