Click Ruler to Start Playback

Make a click on the timeline ruler start playing, not just move the playhead.

Decides what a click on the lower half of the timeline ruler does. With this on, clicking moves the playhead to that point and starts playing from there. With it off, clicking only moves the playhead, and you start playback yourself.

It is off by default.

Where to find it

Right-click the timeline ruler and choose Click ruler to start playback. The item is checked while it is on.

Notes

  • The setting only affects a stopped project. If audio is already playing, clicking the ruler moves playback to that point either way.
