Zoom In
Zooms the timeline in, showing a shorter stretch of the project in more detail.
Zoom in and Zoom out are the two zoom controls present in every workspace.
Zoom Out
Zooms the timeline out, fitting a longer stretch of the project on screen.
Like Zoom in, it is present in every workspace.
Zoom to Selection
Zooms so the current selection fills the visible timeline. The button is labelled Fit selection in the toolbar.
It needs a selection to work on. See the Selection Toolbar at the bottom of the window for the current selection’s start, end and duration.
It appears in the Classic workspace only; the other workspaces carry a shorter zoom group.
Zoom to Fit Project
Zooms so the whole project fits in the visible timeline, from the start to the end of the last clip. The button is labelled Fit project in the toolbar.
Like Fit selection, it appears in the Classic workspace only.
Zoom Toggle
Switches between two zoom levels, so you can jump between a close-up view and a wider one without stepping through Zoom in and Zoom out.
It appears in the Classic and Music workspaces; the Modern workspace carries Zoom in and Zoom out only.
